Nataly Martini
Nataly Martini graduated as a pharmacist from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. After working as a hospital pharmacist, she completed her PhD in pharmacology on the extraction of antimicrobial compounds from native traditional plants. Nataly moved to New Zealand to take up a role as lecturer, then senior lecturer, in clinical pharmacy at the University of Auckland’s School of Pharmacy. Here she conducted a range of studies on the use of innovative teaching methods with an emphasis on interprofessional learning and public health outcomes. Her interests in clinical education lie in the use of simulations to teach clinical reasoning and decision-making, where she has used quantitative and a range of qualitative methods. Nataly also has research interests in medication safety, medication adherence and safer prescribing, particularly for minority groups and vulnerable populations such as older adults and refugees. These interests extend to the use of technology to better manage people’s health.
